Ogichi Daa Kwe is a one-of-a-kind wilderness camp for girls in northern Minnesota offering countless opportunities for personal growth through challenging canoeing and backpacking trips and engaging in-camp activities. Undistracted by technology, unburdened by social pressures and encouraged by passionate role models, the young women who come to Ogichi Daa Kwe discover a stronger version of themselves.

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

The name Ogichi Daa Kwe means “strong-spirited woman” in the Ojibwe language, honoring the Indigenous homelands the camp resides on. This name, given to our organization by a respected Ojibwe elder, has shaped the culture of our camp and serves as a constant reminder that we are all strong-spirited women who contribute in our own unique ways to enrich each other’s lives and the community as a whole.

20 years!

Established in 2004, Ogichi Daa Kwe is marking its 20th summer as a wilderness camp in 2024. Come join us as the Camping & Education Foundation organizes nationwide events, welcoming all alumnae to join the celebration!
